pull the battery cable off (either one) and its prob the battery in your remote. also look for a fuse box by the driver side you will see a small indention where you grab it and normally pull it directly off, and on the opposite side of the panel removed you will see a diagram, labeling each fuse. just look with a flashlight for a burn mark on the fuse itself, there colored by fuse strength.. behind the labeled number is where your looking for a burn mark, then use needle nose pliers to remove it take it to the auto parts store, and replace it ..
I drive a 86 850. I'll have to remember alarm meltdown is a possiblity

there are 3 fuses listed for alarm. All also serve other functions. It looks to me like pulling fuses to silence the alarm will disable the vehicle
Until you can get the right answer to your question you will need to pull the fuse for your alarm. That way you can continue to use the car until you get it fixed. good luck

1996 Volvo 850. Forgot lights on, killed the battery. Tried to jump start, the engine would turn but wouldn't start. Same with new battery

The automatic Volvo transmission 'W' stands for wet, or winter mode, does one know if it is Ok to keep the gears in that mode?
