So a Year was determined by how long it takes the Earth to go around the sun. A month - the moon around the Earth. What about weeks?

    I found out that scientifically a week originates from the four phases of the moon with-in the month. Like new moon, first quarter, full moon and last quarter.

    The concept of the 7 day week seems to begin with the creation story in Genesis, where it is said that God created all in six days and on the seventh day he rested.

    the ammount of time it takes god to go to bed.

    but seriously i have no idea. although I do know there used to only be 10 months and they added a couple more in. thats why october is the tenth month as opposed to being the 8th like semantics would seem to dictate
