  • What's the point? they're not that old, and the story is played out by now anyway...time to move on...
  • Not until George Lucas is dead and buried, so he won't interfere with the making of them. And frankly, I think it's Episodes 1-3 which are in far more dire need of a remake...
  • Why? Don't fix it if it's not broke!
  • Not necessary
  • I don't think I could take the kind of trauma.
  • I think 4 and 5 were the best made of all of them. Why make them over?
  • I'd be interested to see a version of VI in which Han Solo dies, as suggested by Harrison Ford. The rebels do seem to get off lightly. Apart from the Falcon's radar dish breaking off. That was sad.
  • I would only like to see Jedi remade if they rewrote the whole damn thing, made Vader an even bigger bad-ass instead of pathetic wimp, dumped the "Leia's my sister!" cop-out, and ditched the frickin Ewoks!
  • I think it would be nice to see them made with the new technology that they used in I, II, III,.
  • I do, I just watched episode 4 and I thought it was pretty lame. The story is hardly believable! Luke learns the force in a matter of days. He seemed more devastated by the death of ben kenobi than the uncle and auntie who raised him. The death star, which I expected to have be heavily defended, was defeated by a measly 30 fighter ship fleet. The sith - jedi battle was friggin lame too and reminded me of kids just wacking away at each others fake weapons. All in all, i thought episode 4 sucked and should be remade completely. Who cares if ep. 4-6 are supposed to be classic? My generation could probably care less and would probably appreciate a new version much more than these lame 70's versions.
  • A lot of people don't think good effects and good acting can be combined to make a remake. If they were to make episodes 4 5 and 6 again, who's to say that not only would the effects make it much more believable, but that they could also find great actors? It's not like great actors are extinct, there are still plenty of great ones that I'm sure would jump on the chance to play in Star Wars. I think the whole "it's a classic, don't remake it" excuse is an emotional statement that hinders the progress that could be made. That being said, I still think the OT is amazing, but a remake could make the story more effective which doesn't mean that it would replace the original.
