that would be something you need to talk to your doctor about. what dosage are you on? I wouldn't just increase dosage without talking to him. He may need to put you on another kind of medicine like ativan or one of the others. Increasing it without his OK can lead to addiction and over dependency.

Yes, I'm sure it would but prolonged use of xanax can give people alot more troubles than what they started with. Xanax is one of the most if not the most addicting benzodiazepine that there is. If someone is having alot with anxiety, I would suggest seeing a reputable psychiatrist instead of a primary care physician.
