Help answer this question below.

I just found out that the Paralympic Games are currently being held in Beijing. Is it just a coincidence, or are the Paralympic Games automatically also held where the Summer Olympics have been held?

    The Paralympic have been after the Olympic for a number of times, but before 2000, countries did not have to have the Paralympic along with the Olympic.

    In 2000 they signed an agreement that the Paralympic will be in the some city as the Olympics.

    It is the custom now, but has not always been the case. In the late 70s, I had the privilege to be a volunteer at the Paralympics in Sydney Australia. It was a really pathetic affair. The athletes competed on a small oval in western Sydney, and slept on camp beds at a local Masonic homes. They rigged up temporary showers for them.
    Not many nations competed in those days. It was still the cold war, and the USSR said point blank that "we have no paralympians". We all shivered at that, because we knew there had been a policy of euthanasia in the USSR.
