I don't think it's fair for people to assume that more often then not people cheat on their spouses while in the military. My husband and I take our commitment to each other very seriously and would never even think about cheating on one another. We also do not live on base though... As I have heard a few horror stories from woman and men alike living on base. I think there are a few bad apples on both sides that don't take the commitment of their marriage seriously and probably do cheat, but I think their are just as many "normal" people that have "normal" jobs that also cheat. So all in all, I do not think that many people cheat on their spouses then in any other type of marriage, there just happens to be more oppertunity if your spouse is not always around (but most good hearted commited people would not take that oppertunity to go out and cheat)

i don tknow tht they cheat anymore than any other profession. i think its just more of a stigma

Over the years I've know a few cheats and heard the stories of a few cheated on. There are a couple of factors that make it easier for those who would be inclined to cheat to do so. Primarily, deployments induce separations that would be hard on any marriage. Second, a lot of these are young kids with little clue about what they're getting into. It was getting so bad in the Marine Corps they started requiring junior troops to get their CO's approval before they could get married. The same is true for military wives. Lots of them jump into it not realizing how hard it can be to be alone during an extended deployment and just do it for attention. Finally these folks are surrounded by a large group of young, fit, single people.

I think that long times apart makes it hard to stay monogomus (i cant spell), but a true love does not matter how long you are apart. I don't think that military people cheat more than regular society.

I do, being part of the military the men see deployment as an escape from reality. They are in a different lifestyle and I see them living the single life. I have no honor when it comes to hormones I guess I have been lied to too much. When you can trust that he is loyal to you their is no doubt.
