Take a hammer and knock a hole in the wall about 12 inches above the floor and reach in and get him out. You're not going to let it die there, are you?

Does your neighbor have a cat you can borrow for a few minutes? That ought to get the hamster out.

Make sure you make at least one hole low enough so that it can get out. Contain (limit) the area where it could go once it gets out of the wall. Look for it at night. I put mine in the plastic ball and it got out. After 4 hours drilling holes, putting food nearby, etc., I couldn't find it. Around 4 AM I went with a flash light to the area, and sure enough it was outside "playing".
