Yes, it is one of my favorite pastimes here. I'll go through many questions and answers giving points and not answering or commenting. Kind of bothers me that askers do not go back and give points to people who answer their questions, so I try to make up for that.
-
Thousands and thousands. For their answers to my questions and other questions and answers that I enjoy.
-
To often:D
-
Yes I do
-
Yes, sometimes I do.
-
Yup all the time.
-
Yes, quite often.
-
Pretty much constantly.
-
yes all the time.:)
-
all the time. If everyone commented everytime they gave points, it would take you 4 hours to read thru all the comments. I comment ONLY when it's an awesome point or when I wish to say "absolutely agreed " or add to their answer in some way. I would spend all day commenting if I did that
-
All the time. Being miserly about points is like stashing away food that goes bad before anyone can enjoy it!
-
Everyday! I suppose that makes me a "posi-troll", but I can live with that.
-
Yes I do it all the time, I hate to see down rated answers specially when there is nothing wrong with them, I dislike to see unrated answers, I love to give points to the good answers I read. I don't say anything because I have someone following me around and don't want those people to be down rated too.
-
Yes, sometimes I will put a comment while giving points, but I don't mention them.
-
I never give any reason as to why I gave them points. Although I often make comments, rarely are they ever related to that I gave them points aside from the obvious, liking the answer or found it enlightening. And I'm not biased either, if one of my friends writes an answer I don't like, I don't blindly plus them either. If I disagree, I still give them points though. It's really meager as to the real reason why I come here though, so I don't think you need to tell someone every time you want to rep them.
-
I do. On a regular basis and I make no apology for it. What sometimes gets me on a roll is when someone asks a question that requires a personal opinion and people start getting DRed for having one. I really don't like the idea of users being able to take points from other users. That whole system is just ripe for abuse. Lets face it, any time you put as many people together as we have here you are going to have personality conflicts. Some people don't deal with that very well. Especially if you don't happen to subscribe to their particular bent concerning politics, religion, abortion, or whether global warming is caused by Al Gore. It seems there are some bitter, vindictive, evil little people out there with an ax to grind. I figure I'll do my part by trying to right their wrong.
-
Yes, I do!!!!!
-
I just did to one of my AB friends. And to every one who answered this question before me.
-
All the time. I often find myself just reading, and giving out points. Matter of fact, about 2 weeks ago, I wasnt feeling very friendly, thats what I did for hours, while I tried to learn more about the "system" here...
-
Yeahhh! All the time! Love being the point fairy every once in a while :)
-
All the time, most of the time, in fact. Often I don't have anything to say, just 'good answer' and I don't want to do that just so they think I'm just showing off giving them points. I think the points speak for themselves. It's different than when someone answers my questions as I want them to feel appreciated for answering and taking the time. I feel they should know that I am thankful:-)
-
Yes, I do all of the time. Usually when I'm answering a question, I give points to pretty much everyone who answered before me, unless they were rude or nasty (like I did when I answered this question).
-
Yes. Most of the time I just give points, then leave without commenting on the answers.
-
of course. If I left a comment every time I rated people, I'd never have enough time for anything else. I just enjoy the answer, rate and go on. Also, I've found that people who complain about silent downraters viciously attack those who do bother to leave a comment, so I stopped leaving comments on my downrates too.
-
Everyday .. without fail.
-
All the time. Rarely do I let them know by doing a +6...I did today because the particular question and answers were so funny.
-
My giving points is assumed, for it is truly rare when I actually comment, or at least compared to how many times I uprate!
-
only to answers on the 1st page usally
-
I point everything, others questions, old questions, I am point happy, WOOHOO!!!
-
sometimes I give points without saying anything!
-
Always. Especially if I see someone that is being unfairly DR'd for their opinion.
-
It gets to be impossible to comment on all the answers that I receive--especially if I take off time from AB. I do make a point of rating all the answers that I receive knowing that several thousand of the answers that I posted have gone unrated. If everyone did this the unrated answers wouldn't be a big problem on AB. I also like to give drive by uprates to Q & A that I like to read and I give points to people who have received downratings.
-
Yes :] I also try to give my friends Q&A's points daily even if i dont contribute to the question ^^
-
Yes, often :o)
-
Yup - tis a good thing.
-
only when it is something I think the other users are likely to enjoy. If I am looking at a crappy question I might have something to say but I won't give it a positive rating because it is rooted in something that I am simply not interested in promoting...
-
Frequently...If I said something every time I gave points, I'd never stop typing!!
-
Absolutely :)
-
All the time If i like the answer or it makes me laugh I always give points :)
-
Many times I do, and sometimes I take them away without saying anything about it either! However, when I take them away, I much prefer to leave a note saying why.
-
yes just did to all 4 pages i did leave a comment or 2. i love the "posi-troll" idea, how can u tell i'm new. oh well. i did this i think 4 times 2nite, go through all the answers and give the max i'm allowed, it made me feel good & i needed that
-
All the time.. I would even think of saying ""HAY ZACK!!!!!"" HERE 5 POINTS FOR YA""
-
Yes, I do it all the time :)
-
Yes - then I max out my points for those people :(
-
Just gave everyone who answered a point!!!! I hardly ever comment, just give points, sometimes take a point, but usually tell them why.
-
All of the time :)
-
i just did
-
Yes all the time. If I think the question or answer is good but there is no need for me to comment. It's just another way of acknowledging that you agree with them. Sometimes, I will tell a person that I have rated them but not always.
-
yes-sury!!
-
Yes:)
-
no
-
yes. Doesn't always call for a comment..part of posi trolling and being a COAT
-
I give more than i receive ;0)
-
Yes, quite often. I seldom make comments, but I point alot of good questions and answers.
-
all of the time
-
Always, I never make a point of telling people I have given them points.
-
Most of the time I give what I like to call "read-by's", where if I read and like the question I give points. I don't like repeating answers so sometimes I don't answer if I like the question. I such case I usually give points to the answers that would most match mine.
-
I dont give comments that often, I give points whenever I agree with the question/answer.
-
well yah. If I give them a point, what am I sapost to do, call their house and say "I just gave you points?"
-
All the time
-
Yes. If I think the question or the answer is a good one, then I give a point. Is there a way to track how many points you have given?
-
Yes, esspcially to new abers.
-
yes I do
-
Of course... i try to belive everyone does that! lol (like AB is the light of good in a world so full of dark)
-
Yup.
-
I've sat here for about the last 20 minutes just reading and giving points, not commenting on anything. If I had to stop and comment each time I gave someone points it would slow me down.
-
yes, if its a good question but i can't answer it b/c i haven't experienced it then i give it points.
-
What are ab points? I'm a ab virgin.
-
Of Course.
-
You mean like a "point fairy?" Nope, that's what I hired her for.
-
Whenever I see a question that I think has merit, I give it points. And when I 'search' for a question and find the same or similiar question already posted, I open the link and award that question points, then read the answers and award points based upon the answers given. In some cases I may leave a comment, notating that points were given, for the really exceptional, and why. When reading answers to my questions, I award points based on the answer given in most cases, and try to remember to give everyone at least one point for making the effort.
-
Yes, if it makes me think or smile.
-
I might. If I liked the question, but have nothing say for a decent answer.
-
Yes there are so many good questions and I like to say that by awarding points.
-
I do my best to give points to as many Q's as possible, in particularly the front page, before I know who is asking them. It keeps my points-giving unbiased. It has to be a REALLY annoying question (solve this math problem/am I pregnant) for me to leave it unpointed. I answer maybe 10% of the questions I point. +5
-
Many times ...if I like the question I will give it points even if I have no answer for it.
-
Yes, on occasion, if its an amusing or astute enough one.
-
Sometimes I give points to answers without reading them either. A real rebel I am.
-
Yes, often. Just because I don't know an answer to a question doesn't mean it is not a good question. Good questions get points.
-
Only negative ones ;-)
-
Occasionally, although I mostly go from the "New Arrivals" page and generally only click on the questions I want to answer.
