Help answer this question below.
You could choose your family doctor or personal physician.
But there is no question of choosing a doctor where specialist treatment is required.
The doctor reccomended by the family doctor or the hospital to which we go will do the physical examinatin.
All we could do is to pray that the specialist is an expert.
Question of the gender of the specialist doctor does not come into consideration at all.
I'd rather have a woman stick her finger up my ass than a man.
Honestly I rather have a doctor the opposite sex. From all the doctors I have met the female doctors seem to be more professional. I feel the male doctors try to be overly compassionate toward their patients. Sometimes in order to do your best you have to put compassion aside.
My doc is..:)
Yes, both my gyn and family doctor are men. I have no problem with either of them seeing or touching my nude body.
yes i would rather have a female doctor because most of them will explan it better then a male doctor
I had a physical for the Army a month ago, the doctor was female and she was very professional. I would definitely go with the opposite sex again.
The only thing that I didn't feel comfortable with was the male who had to survey my physical. He just sat and watched me, very awkward.
My doctor is a man, so yes I would and have chosen one of the opposite sex
I have a male ENT, a female Endo, a female gynie, a male GP....
If the physician is good, what does it matter if they are male or female?
Oh yeah, all of my physicians understand evolution, they would not allow a pharmacist to determine what drugs are morally unacceptable for me, and they do not preach to me about morality.
Healthcare should not be a pulpit for religious extremism.
Sure I would. Her being hot would be a distraction, but something I'd have to work through.
Doesn't quite matter to me actually!
Actually my Doctor is a woman and she's absolutely brilliant!
My opthamologist is a woman, and this does not bother me. Of course, it also doesn't hurt that she's a cutie.
My current doctor is of the opposite sex. It's no more awkward than one of the same sex, really.
No as my gyno, but my regular PCP is a guy and he's the best doctor I could have asked for.
Sure! that would make my app. really fun!
I have had both. I had surgery done by a great female doc at the VA in Pbgh and then had 2 different female docs in my area. One was great but too busy to see me when I wanted the second one couldn't be trusted with changing dog kennels. My opinion as a person who ended up with a viral infection. I actually prefer women for everything. Men are cocky and arrogant,(sometimes)
Doesn't really matter. When they look at both ends, they'll just yell twins anyway.
It doesn't matter if the doctor is in opposite sex..They do it professionally that's why I don't need to worry.
yeah, sure
Sure.
i would rather have a women doctor because they do not use those big words that you dont understand. they explain it to were you can understand it.

Sure, I have and I will again.
yes, i actually prefer male doctors, as they are more gentle than the women and seem to take their time to make sure everything is well for the patient....=)
women doctors are usually (not always) ruffer and aggressive... =/
I would prefer a doctor of the oppisite sex
yeah sure..but one must be cute!
Yes my doctor already is the opposite sex
Our GP is male and I like him and feel comfortable with him. But if I have to go for a trip to the gynecologist I will be more comfortable if a women examined me.
if they were good yes
I already have, been seeing her for about 14 years now.
I would prefer that actually.
Yes!I dont like female doctors touching me!
I always want the most qualified or experienced in that particular field . . . no matter the sex.
It's probably weird but I'd rather have a doctor of the opposite sex.
Probably not, but if there were not any male doctors available, I would have no problem choosing a female doctor.
only a female
Yes. I'm female, but I go to males for both gynecology exams and regular stuff, including my yearly non gyn physical.
My doctor is male, so yeah.
Yes. For some reason I don't see myself being molested by a female unless I want it to happen.
Never
Males in general make me uncomfortable...
So I always see a female doctor
I have no real preference, as long as the doctor is competent. For a while, I thought I would only want to see a female ob/gyn, but then I saw that the women can sometimes be more obnoxious (and catty) than the men!
Anyway, these days, there are so many more female ob/gyn docs that it's difficult to find a male one even if you want to.
Yes. The surgeon who operated on me last year is a female. Seems to me, female doctors are a bit more caring and friendlier than male doctors.
Depends for what i guess, but im mostly not fussed as long as the doctor no matter what gender is listening and caring, not just wanting to hear why im there and get rid of me, i hate those.
Not as my doctor, no.
never... and when it happens i yell bloody murder till they change
As a homophobic adult male, I feel very uncomfortable with a male doctor. I only have a female doctor. She's cute, but I'm not attracted to her. She's very professional and truthful towards me.
All my drs. except one are of he opposite sex.
Sure. I've had several female doctors.
Sure she would be a doctor as long as she is good at her profession and can help me why not

Yes, a better wording for the question would have been:
"Given a choice, would you prefer a doctor of the opposite sex?"

This answer seems to be a duplicate

You could reword the question and post it now!
.
I have gone through all the 51 answers that got posted this far. I find Zack's answer posted more than once. But not mine.
But I do find as discrepancy in dates. I posted the answer in 2008, I am sure, but the date against the answer shown here is April 9th, 2009.

I have located it now. It was posted in the aftermath of the AB site crash on 23rd March, when the glitches had not all been fixed by the 9th of April. Here the duplicate posting of answers has happened due to the AB glitches and not due to any intentional fault of my own. Please forgive me.
.
I took the liberty to go through your questions and answered one on flagging of duplicate answers. Please go through that and give me your comments there.
