Are nylons really out of fashion? In all the magazines, on TV and just out and about I rarely see other women wearing nylons. Most seem to go bare legged, even in the winter months. Anyone?

I don't know about women in general, but I've never liked wearing them. They'd inevitably get a run-after you left the house. They're always too tight or super loose and falling down. Hard to get the right color to not look like you used self tanner only on your legs too. I'd much rather go bare legged and use lotion to keep my skin looking smooth and soft. :)

WEll here in NY I barely see women bare legged especially in the winter, Nylons are in. I wear them, especially the thick ones in the winter. :)

Yes, here in MI women seem to wear knee high boots to cover most of there legs without the nylons. I see a lot of this which is fine with me. I like the bare leg look.

I wear them all the time, though I recognize that many women have sworn off of them -- rather unfairly, I might add, as they are fabulous if you get good ones!

I hate nylons, I used to work on an airport as a hostess and that was the only time I wore them. However, the ones that are opague (not see through) are very fashionable now, especially in bold colors.

There is conspiracy from all the manufacturers of pantyhose -they are soooo expensive yet are pennies to make. They can run easily, yet they can make them run-free. They don't fit at the hips properly and tend to slide down. It's a chance to take when you buy one that actually fits snugly at the hips and not go down midway and make an embarassing line that looks like a panty line with your fat sticking out. They can make holes at the toes. The natural or beige colours are not so natural, they look too orangey for the average caucasian woman. They are starting to go back to all nylon legs - which should make them dirt cheap but they still keep the expensive price tag of 7 to 10 dollars. IT IS BECOMING RIDICULOUS. How does the clothing industry expect women to buy their skirts when it is much easier and cheaper to wear pants???

I recently went to a wake. Women in their 50's were bare legged with short skirts. It was not pretty. Wrinkly knees, and white skin. Not attractive. Bare legs are great in your 20's - not so pretty in your 50's and I am 56. I will still wear shorts in the summer when I am tanned but in the winter wear nylons or tights. Sometimes you need to look in the mirror.
