If McCain gets elected, and actually does good for the country, I will apologize for doubting him, and just be grateful that my friends and family living in the states will be living a better life. But I truly believe their lives will be better with Obama as president, no matter what version of McCain he wants to be.

I really wouldn't be surprised if he did Rosie. I don't know if it will matter much. With the Democrats ruling Congress, he might not be able to 'change' much. Do you like the ad that says he voted with Bush 90% of the time?

Lets pretend that the old McCain does not believe this country is doing so great paying its bills. Yeah the one with seven houses. Now lets pretend Mr. McCann believes its enough to "help americans find insurance". WTF does that mean anyhow? I choose to wake up and acknowledge the better man for the job and that man is sarah palin. Oh well i can dream about '12. Your "maverick" needs to be put out to pasture.

Let's hope those who would go against that idea don't read your question here, huh? You could have something here. I was a bit surprised by some of the things he agreed to the last few years. I was all for him when he tried to run before. When he announced this time, I was like, "No way dude, you went with Bush." But in his speech the other night, I saw some of the old McCain and I like it. I like what Obama has to say, but I'm not so sure how much he will be able to accomplish. He's a star right now and he seems to like that. That is not what we need in the White House.

So the loose cannon has to march the line as a crypto-neocon to get elected? If he burns his owners, they will thoroughly assassinate his character, or worse, and make him ineffective as a president.

If he was opposed to same-sex marriages and a woman's right to choose during his maverick days, then his improvement over Bush would be minimal, even if he reverted. The only improvement that I could see would be McCain's environmental policies. BTW Rosie, is it true that your computer isn't set up for sound?

This election is quickly turing into a "personality" fest. Why don you look at Policies each candidate supports. A vote for McCain equals more War. A vote for McCain equals No universal health care. A vote for McCain equals a continued collapsing economy. A vote for McCain equals higher gas prices. A vote for McCain equals no help for the housing market. A vote for McCain equals a further erosion of woman’s rights. A vote for McCain equals ideologue judges being placed throughout the country.

McCain is going along not because he has thought about it, it is what his party wants and he will have to go along with said policies whether he likes it or not. Do you sincerely believe Senator McCain picked Gov. Palin? He did not, he had two other persons in mind but the party imposed Gov. Palin. Why do you think the Gov. imposed Gov. Palin? She is there to make sure that the party’s policies are observed, to control the whole situation and hold back any personality outbreak Senator McCain could have in the future. They are not going to let him do any different to what the Republican Party wants. Everyone says he voted 90% of the times along with the Republicans, yes it is true but that 90% is out of the 57% of times he voted. Why would a Senator like McCain vote 57% out of 100%? I don’t think it was out of not wanting to go to work, or because he preferred to stay home there must have been huge disagreements and he knew he could not vote against the party lines so he preferred not to be present. When in a public presentation, watch Senator McCain and Gov. Palin, you will see that she always sets him aside and interferes when he wants to have his say, he then gets awfully nervous and starts twisting his hands. Have you noticed? Body language is very important.
