Why are the colors red and green most associated with Christmas?

    I think that red was chosen to sybolize Christmas because it also symbolizes courage, honor, leadership and love.

    Green was chosen because it symbolizes nature, growth, hope, youth, health, and spring.

    The combination of the two has other advantages. As I learned in art class, those two colors are opposites, just like blue and orange, and because of this they draw the eye's attention.
