Same thing happened to me (almost). 6 year relationship, we both had precautionary sti testing 3.5 years ago and came back clear. Now I find I have chlamydia, but my fiance denies having ever cheated. He's a fantastic guy and I've never had the slightest suspicion. My instinct is that he's innocent and there's been some terrible mix up somewhere, but I don't want to be naive. I know there's a very small chance that the results before were wrong.

Apparently chlamydia is usually symptomless, but pelvic pain sometimes appears, and this takes a few months to develop. However most medical advice is that the symptoms can sometimes take years to develop. Depending on your immune system you may have fought it off, and therefore it has not shown up in tests. Also the older tests (over about 4 years ago in the uk) were not really reliable (60% on a good day apparently). I think it's possible you could have had it for 20 years, although the fact that you have suspicions about your husband may indicate a more recent infection.

Speak to a gynae (or go to an sti clinic), maybe get re-checked in case there's been a mix up. Get tested for everything else just in case...

Chlamydia is not a thing that can stay dormant. Its contracted, runs it's course when treated, and goes away. Now there are non sexual ways to get chlamydia but I am yet to hear or know of someone who has. I would put my money on a unfaithful partner.

OMG get out now..THAT MEANS HE DIDNT WEAR A CONDOM...he is DANGEROUS and doesnt even care about himself..TRUST ME I KNOW..you fail to realize that this sti can cause you to develop PID(pelvic inflammitory disease) and you wont be able to have children....this occurs in 40% of woman who has contracted it..THATS NASTY and so is he..he doesnt even have the common decency to put on a condom :(
