There is no damage done by negative points. It does not detract from your overall point score whatsoever. I haven't been able to figure out why so many get upset about it. I get so many downrates that if I were to take it too personally I would have packed up my toys and gone home a long time ago. I welcome points posotive or negative as I can at least tell that someone read my post or answer. Negs are no big deal. Just showing you that someone disagree's with you just as posotive points shows someone does agree with you.

negative ratings do not equal negative points. only positive rating create points. negative ratings are just that ratings not points. all the points you earn you keep. The only way to lose points is if the staff decides to remove them. So no plus ratings do not really fix points but they will repair the ratings.
