A true introvert has self confidence, due to his or her well developed sense of identity and self knowledge gained through introspection. A true introvert chooses to live life in this way, not because he or she lacks other available options.

I do not think being an introvert is necessarily good or bad, nor do I think it implies any lack of confidence. I think introvert merely implies a less gregarious, more quiet social interaction pattern. If you'd like to develop more confidence and start believing in yourself, I would recommend assigning yourself some managable, worthwhile tasks, and then completing them. It's a good way to build confidence and self-esteem.
