Question

Help answer this question below.

I have a 3.2 gig, custom built PC with 1 Gig of Memory, a fast hard drive, and supposedly all the "right stuff." I run spyware, adware and virus software and keep it defragged & "clean" daily. AB is laggy alot for me. Is it the servers?

    Your computer would only typically be the source of the problem if 'every' web site lagged and you were sure it wasn't your connection through to your ISP. If other sites are loading fast, it's site related or maybe even region related.

    It is more than likely your internet connection. Webpages will only load as fast as your internet connection, regardless of the speed of your computer.. So if you have dial-up, its not going to load very fast... Also, dont defrag your computer every day.. Your harddrive actually needs some fragmentation.. I rarely ever defrag my hd.. about once a year. Defragmentation is not nearly as important today as it was when hd space was a prescious commodity.

    AB = Arathi Basin?

    If you're running WoW, I'd suggest going with at least 2 GB of RAM.

    Changing servers is another recommendation. Blizzard has quite a few data centers located in different parts of the country.

    change firewalls or backup everything onto an external medium such as another hard drive located in your machine or another medium such as a CD-R or so and do a clean install. Or if you can reset your Cable modem and re-boot your computer sometimes if kept on very long. Also before hand if wanting to do a scan for viruses, adaware, and viruses try online scans such as panda softwares online Active scan and trend micros housecall.. Also try spybot search and destroy if not already done so and remember to update your antivirus, spyware and other security applications frequently.. or check your hard drive and make sure it is not dying on you...

    I would run a traceroute and note the response times of each leg of the journey. Many times, it isn't you or the site you're surfing; it's in between.

    Personally, I get good pins all the way.

    Have you checked your browser? Do you have a lot of cache files or problems with other sites?
