  • Five weeks. Poor thing should not even be away from its mother yet! Is it eating okay? It should be fine to give it a bath, but you can only use a mild shampoo and warm water. Nothing for fleas, it's too young. Have you named it yet? Boy or girl?
  • Cats and kittens are usually very good at bathing themselves.
  • Wait until it gets itself covered in something smelly, and then use mild soap and warm water. Only the big cats (lions, tigers etc) voluntarily immerse themselves in water. Small domesticated cats avoid immersing themselves - it's not something they enjoy and doesn't come naturally. They groom themselves regularly and don't really need to be bathed. I've had cats for years and only ever bath them if they are filthy with mud or have rolled in something that stinks.
  • Until it gets old enough to scratch you when you try. Really, they don't like baths at all and the necessity seldom arises (skunk attacks being one exception).
  • you should not bathe it EVER! Cats and kittens are self cleaning, and especially one that age, it should still be with its mother! You will kill it, its body wont have the ability to deal with being wet and cold
  • it is way too young to be away from it's mother. Is it an orphan? I would think that there is no need to bathe it unless of unusual circumstances. A cat licks itself clean. If it is still very young and it's rear end gets a little dirty, then you need to use a soft wet washcloth and very gently clean it but don't use much water and fluff dry it's bottom.
  • You dont really need to because kittens groom themselves. They dont like water but if you really want to bath it do it now while its still young so it can get used to it.
