  • The polls show he blew it.
  • I think he did OK. I still have not made up my mind on who yet I'll vote for tho. They seem to act like McCain is to old to be President. And that the one he chose for his V-P. Would not know how to run the country, if something was to happen to him. She seemed to me like she had more experiences, than some where giving her credit for. That's all this one party I seen, seem to talk about the other night. That if McCain was elected. And if something was to happen to him, while in office. How would Palin deal with it. We'll if this was to happen. Palin would become President & could chose any "wise high ranked person" with the background needed. To be her V-P. We here in the U.S. have many Soldiers & P.O.W.'s. Who have sacrificed their time & lives, for our freedom. They have "Honorably" earned and are worthy, for our respect. And for that, I "Salute you my FRIENDS". And my hat goes off. To all the family's who have lost their Love one's, protecting this Country. I can't get over how people act now days. So many some how have lost, the true meaning of FREEDOM. And I am sad to say, that I don't believe many will ever realize the FREEDOM they have. Until it's gone. It's like some have been somehow brainwashed, or had no brains at all. I will say tho. Whoever becomes President is going to have a lot of weight, put on their shoulders. It's a place I sure would not want to be, in this day & time. Maybe it's because I can foresee some of what lies ahead. I just hope & pray that whoever becomes President knows also. What they are getting into................M.C.S.
  • Senator John McCain is a good man, and he presented himself as best he could as a presidential candidate who would try very hard to return the country to prosperity. He was especially well received when he introduced his family, referred to his popular running mate Sarah Palin, and recalled his harrowing days as a prisoner in Vietnam.
  • His strength is DEFINITELY not public speaking. We'll just leave it at that.
  • Yes - the horse do-do was delivered to 1/5 of all the homes in America. Kidding - just kidding. I actually found his speech pretty boring - sorry.
  • I wasn't too impress. He was a little boring.
  • If you are a right-wing Republican or an evangelical, probably..after all, he chose Palin and they're all nuts for her. Everyone else? Well, maybe not..maybe he didn't address some of the things the rest of us are interested in. Not for me to say. We will find out on November 4 who talked the talk. We won't know who delivered the goods until someone is elected and shuts up and does something..meantime, it's all blathering spin and doesn't mean a darn thing! :)
  • It was a little long. I liked parts of it and thought some of it just wasn't delivered well. But he's not a show horse he's a work horse.
  • Not really and I thought it was funny how his remark "education is the civil rights issue of this century" was taken straight out of Bush's 2000 campaign. So much for widening the gap between himself and the current administration. I don't think he really laid out any concrete plans that he has...I cannot wait for the debates. I will probably watch every single one of them.
  • i felt that he proved that he's a man who is more good than bad. he assured the republican base of many concerns, although not nearly all. he needed to have reached out more to the undecided and independent and younger voters. he didn't have the one-on-one direct charisma that obama, biden, or palin had on stage, in my opinion. you know, for the last, ummm, 40 years anyway, i've listened to just about every one of these speaches and i've always found an incredible number of strengths (and, predictable weaknesses) in all of them.
  • No I felt he fell short of the mark. I still have a problem with his age and ability.
  • The video was rather good, but the real thing just puttered out. Go home John, you look tired.
  • I though it was good speech, but the V.P. was cute!!!!!!!!
  • I heard it on the radio. He delivered some of the goods. Though I oppose him, I liked it as (I felt that) it came from the heart. Here's my question about it: "I hear the pundits say that Palin's speech was great, but then that McCain's wasn't. I say the opposite. He was much much better than the many RNCC dorks who preceded him. What say you?" http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/953848
