Help answer this question below.

Whenever I play a computer game on my computer it always "blinks" or the moniter goes black for a second and then comes back on...does anyone know whats wrong and how it can be fixed?

    My system does this whenever I switch modes on my monitor. Seeings how I run WinXP at 1152*864 or 1280*1024 and most of my games at 800*600, this happens to me whenever I start a game. It is annoying, but not abnormal. Nothing is wrong, nothing to fix.

    If it does it during gameplay, that's a separate issue and requires a little more info to solve.

    Screen mode switching to suit the needs.
    Btw, if you have fast enought PC, you won't even see this happening.

    its probably the game, I have the same thing as the blinking when playing Stunt track driver the original version on my pc. I had it with my HP VLI8 and this one too. The blink is not severe and usually a blink or two when racing, however once I exit the game or even play a game title Trainz it does not happen, So I figured mine was the old game having problems. Try running another game and see if it happens if it doesn't than you know it the game you are trying to run... or go into XPs compatibility mode and change it, u know right now I am going to try mine with that and make the resolution 80x600 to see if that solves it. I will post an EDIT here if it works..

    EDIT: nope and it would only go as low as 640x480 and I also tried in 98 mode and same thing. So I think it is the game for both you and me..

    If it only does this just as the game is starting (or ending), this is normal. It is just your video card switching video modes and/or resolution. As long as it's a single blink and doesn't interfere with your using the PC - everything's fine.

    Is the "blink" and "black" intermittent or only when you start the game? (A little more details would be good.)

    I'm guessing its either driver problems with the video card, maybe you're trying to use a resolution that isn't compatible with your screen/video card combo or some other software update.

    Make sure your OS is up-to-date
    Make sure your hardware drivers and firmware are up-to-date
