just remember that your ideas of culture were once new ideas that were seen as the end of "contemporary" culture.

hahaha maybe. I can certainly see where your question comes from. Many aspects of our culture seem vacuous or in some way of lower caliber than cultural art forms and traditions of the past. But I also think that there are wonderful cultural opportunities if you know where to look.

People of every age have asked the same question. Apparently human history is thus an uniterrupted sequence of dull and culturally dead societies populated by exceptional and uniquely insightful individuals that complain about it.
