Urban legend, debunked for example by snopes: http://www.snopes.com/horrors/robbery/kidney.htm

We all want to accept the story about the guy who woke up in a bath full of ice with his kidney stolen as an urban legend and sure there is no official evidence of such a crime in the USA. However, the theory about urban legends states that there is always some sort of truth behind such stories. It is either the truth that there "are" organ thefts in real world or the truth that strangers must be approached with caution.

Actually urban legends or even legends originate from truthfull events so maybe a guy got kidnapped killed and got his kidney stolen and people editted the events and turn it into an urban legend or in some parts of the world lets say china for example people see something in a lake or river but they can't explain itprobably current of water forming a snakelike creature and then they tell their children and so on and the lake suddenly bcomes the lake of the giant snake or whatever so the legends are just legends they originated from an event then editted to be what they are now and that is my view of this legend so to clear the issue people make up stories so all legends or urban legends are half true and half false we just don't know which part that is.......................

Ok, I know my answer may stir some of you people up out there, but could we then say Jesus and God are urban legends too. We all know the party game where one person makes a story up, then tells the next person the story, whom tell the next etc. By the time the last person re-tells the story it ain't nothing like the orriginal.

A urban legend.I bet you could find kidneys on the black market so there's a shard of truth but the story isn't true.At the end about him waiting for kidneys could be true and on a life machine could be true IF a guy got his kidneys stolen.

A kidney stolen in such a manner would be useless, because it must be removed in extremely sanitary conditions and requires an expensive and extensive setup in order to preserve it. Perhaps someone tried to steal a kidney once, but they would not have been able to re-use it.

IT IS ACTUALLY A URBAN LEGEND FOR NOW BUT WHOS TO SAY IT CAN'T HAPPEN WITH ALL THESE MAD SCIENTIST RUNNING AROUND OUR WORLD TODAY.
