Having rights is sometimes only words, might be written in a lawbook somewhere, but when you get minus points just for asking this question ( I could minimize that to 2 less), how can you expect women to voice what they are really thinking??

I see no reason why this should have been downrated. I put you up as much as I could (+5). I honestly believe that the majority of women don't approve of going topless. Maybe in the more progressive cities, sure, but I've lived in some very small hick towns in the States as well and you'd be surprised just how conservative small town America can be.

As a female, I'd rather not be topless just for the fact it's CHILLY out there. I'm barely topless in my own home. I am comfortable with myself enough to be topless though. America does have nude beaches...

You live in what appears to an outsider to be a society with a very repressive approach to nudity. The fact that your question has been down-rated and the fact that a tiny avatar of a naked female torso here on Answerbag caused uproar demonstrate that. I doubt that very many US women want the right to be topless in public, although I don't know whether you have laws that prevent it on beaches where, in Europe there are as many topless women as there are covered ones.

I'm not an American, but if I want to be topless, I am topless. If I want to walk around my house or yard wearing nothing at all, then I will do so if it pleases me. I have absolutely no hang ups about being nude, nor do I feel the hysteric need to sexualize being naked. There are places that are designated for women to be topless and for people of both sexes to be nude. Unfortunately, your despair is not going to over-turn centuries worth of sexist double standards that have oppressed women and made any type of nakedness shameful and sinful.

No. I don't want to think about it. I think women here like to keep them at least slightly concealed most of the time because it gives them like a present to be able to unwrap later.

Maybe they don't want to go about topless all of them time. I'm not American, but I wouldn't...it's cold. Then again, I remember being told that in America women aren't even allowed to go topless on the beach which is just stupid. I don't see anything wrong with that, I'd do that on holiday. Everyone does that on holiday. It's just a body. Tan lines aren't cool.

I run around topless a lot. I just don't like jail. Topless in jail wouldn't be so nice. I know that the puritan prudes here aren't ready for it and I can't do much to change it. Americans are afraid of being human.

Many woman in the USA are trying to do just that. Men won the right to be top free in the 1930's it is time for the women to have the same right; to be top free ANYWHERE a man may be.
