It depends on the reason. Why would my s/o want me to give up my dream job? That's not cool.

Forgetting that you gave up the dream job is the hard part. There is always a inner-voice wanting to throw it in the s/o's face. Or difficult not to be standoffish. So I say, not for a s/o. If you were to give up a dream job, it should at least be for a spouse whom you love dearly. Axe

My dream job is to be an NBA arena announcer who introduces the players and provides color commentary. I'm hoping my S/o would be sitting close to me and enjoying my dream with me.................
