  • Given the suboptimal market for selling houses, it doesn't sound like the wisest thing to do right now.
  • Yes it is. Your house will appreciate in value each year. That motor home will depreciate each year. In fact, it will loose a huge chunk if it's value as soon as you drive it off the lot. In a few years you'll be lucky to sell it at all.
  • Not particularly if you can afford it, but instead of selling, why not consider renting your house out instead. You will have a monthly income to help defray your travel expenses and won't lose any value or equity. win-win
  • No I don't believe it is dumb, however what I would have to ask is about the life itself so to speak. If you are traveling with a significant other what would you do if something happens to that person? Would you be left out in the cold, broke with no house or spouse?
