We are building an outdoor bird aviary 8'W x 8'D x 8'L x 8'H and will be putting 3 cockatiels, 2 nanday conures, 1 sun conure and a rosella into it, do you think they will have enough room and will they get along?

Hi,
Just wondered if you ever put those birds together. I'm about to (probably) do exactly the same! I have 2 sun conures which have been in the 21ft x 12 ft avairy since last autumn and now have 2 cockatiels and 2 rosellas I want to introduce.
Wondered how you got on.

I wouldn't risk putting the cockatiels with such big birds as the conures, even with that much room. I had a rosella and some cockatiels I handraised together get along fairly well. Why not split your aviary up into compartments. You could even make 3 compartments. Is this just a grouping of birds or are you interested in breeding. Are there any pairs in the above group? As that would make it harder to place them with other birds as well, since pairs often get more protective of their space.
