  • Unfortunately, no.
  • No, what would be the point? Everyone has the right to rate a question as they wish. If you post a question or answer, the risk you take is that it may be rated down. Just do your best and have fun on the site and don't worry too much about a negative rating. Also, how do you know that the person who rated your answer is "an idiot/troll"? What if it's just someone who disagreed with you? You may not like the rating but that does not define the rater as either of these terms.
  • No. The way you get revenge on the trolls is to just keep being yourself with the intention of being helpful. Over time, the "karma" of that pays off. Personally, it's my practice to ignore all of my own ratings -- I find that I enjoy the 'bag much more if I focus on the aforementioned effort. Every time I get caught up in worrying about ratings the quality of my postings suffers along with my enjoyment of the addiction.
  • No, and I suppose it's best that way. I think Answerbag is supposed to be purely objective about everything, so speculative or political answers should suffer the wrath of the masses.
  • In this arena you are subject to the reality of life, you're connecting with people around the country... In life, you only have three options for any givin' situation... accept it, deal with it or leave. take your pick.
  • Actually, no, because right above the buttons for "helpful" and "not helpful" are the words, " What do you think of this answer?". So, therefore, if someone thinks your answer stinks, then they have the option of rating it "Not helpful". Although your answer may,in fact be helpful, is not always enough to maintain a good vote.
