    I am fluent in another language and have taught that language, so I would not recommend learning a language online for free. Online translation sites translate words literally and they are often very wrong. When I was abroad, my cousin sent me a letter using one of these, and every single sentence was wrong. These sites also tell you nothing about the alphabet, parts of speech, sentence structure, etc, etc, etc of a langauge. If you want to learn in an inexpensive way I would recommend that you buy tapes and listen to them every day. The reason that tapes usually are not effective is because people do not use them regularly. If you do use them very regularly, they do work, enough for you to have a working knowledge of a language. Also diligently read the related reference material.

    The best way to learn a language is to be taught by a private tutor, but this is also the most costly so I can understand that you would want to find a more economic way of doing this. Good luck.

    we have some examples such as mexicans who speak Arabic becuse they work in Stores owned by Arabs and an Embassador of Korea who is also fluent in Arabic the point is that and anyone who wants to learn bad enough can learn by any means even with only a book But it might take longer and how will you be able to correct yourself?

    Therefore, any disicipline that involves intereactive learning is best when done in the traditional settings besides Still Nothing is better than making friends, traveling, taking formal classes and getting all the benefits of learning in the traditional sense.

    There is a lot of talk about the Rosetta Stone, but still try to get a language class or start making friend with the native speakers until they teach you.
