I do hope that you are not suggesting that my meringue-puff-ball wedding dress complete with puffed sleeves and puffed up pads to keep me from just floating up and away, was anywhere near strange. The shoulder pads that were fitted across the entire back (one side to the other), acted as ballast - like sandbags do for a hot air balloon. Ah, yes, the 80's - what an era.

I think the strangest one I have seen is a short, silk dressing gown. It came to just above the knees, had a beautiful print and shoulder pads. Hmmmm come to think of it, I saw it on me!

My favorite dress from the early 90's had HUGE pads in it, but it was an inverted 'A' style, so it looked more like a 'V' when worn...huge on top and tapered at the knee. I was cleaning out my closet and just HAD to pitch it. lol
