Help answer this question below.
What you're talking about is a marriage by proxy. Certain states allow these. In Colorado, you can appear before civil authorities and marry a foreign national without his appearance. More information can be found on the net by googling "marriage by proxy". A free consult with a Colorado lawyer would be advisable. You need to know exactly what is required of you. There are companies that handle these things for a fee, but I'm sure if you do your research, you can handle this yourself. These companies are good for information, however. Why wouldn't you want to be together when you got married? Unless you just wanted to meet like in between and then get married somewhere else. But what are you going to do after you're married? Still live in each place separately?
Not if you want the marriage to be recognized by either government. Governments aren't big on Internet marriage yet. Some of them are still using typewriters! :)
I don't have an answer for you, but I do applaude your efforts. I am in EXACTLY the same situation as you. My fiance currently lives in Managua, and I live in the States. I am also in Nursing school, and will be done this May! I have waited 3 years to be with the man that I love, and trust me, if we can do it so can you!!! We waited to get married because our oarents wanted us to finish school, especially mine. Its my dream to be a nurse, and once I am done, the next biggest dream is to marry the man I love and bring him to the states. Good luck to you, for you and your hunny and in nursing school. And remember that it is sooo worth it. Nothing that is worth anything comes easily. If you have any questions, I can be reached at gracefulsteps@gmail.com
its not that i dont want us to be together when we get married. its that he is very poor so he cant come over here and i dont make enough money to go over there and pay wedding arrangements. after we get married we will be living in seperate places until i finish nursing school.
