According to a lot of so-called Christians who obviously have no standards and think God doesnt either... they have the "once saved always saved" mentality. So hey, get Baptized, do whatever the hell you want in life, and be my neighbor in heaven. According to my interpretation, which is far more reasonable and pure, if you ask me, once saved not always saved. You can only go to Heaven if, after committing the act that will result in your own death, you then regret having done it and embrace God, before you die. Then you might stand a chance. For the most part, it is the one sin you cant repent from because once you die, its too late to regret. Historically speaking, suicide was deemed a sin by the Catholic church during the dark ages. It was necessary because Christians were committing suicide at the time, to be with God and to escape the pains of their reality... the church thought it was a huge problem. There is no explicit dogma mentioning suicide. Its something that evolved like all the other creation myth that isnt represented in the Bible. However, suicide is still a form of murder. The murder of ones self. And murder is explicitly mentioned as a sin in the Bible

Yes, all Christians consider this a sin. The Catholics believe you go to hell for this, no appeals, purgatory, or chance for repentence.

According to the Bible, whether a person commits suicide is not what determines whether he or she gains entrance into heaven. If an unsaved person commits suicide, he or she has done nothing but “expedite” his or her journey to the lake of fire. However, the person who committed suicide will ultimately be in hell for rejecting salvation through Christ, not because he or she committed suicide. What does the Bible say about a Christian who commits suicide? What it does not say is that a Christian who commits suicide will lose salvation and go to hell. The Bible teaches that from the moment a person truly believes in Christ, he or she is eternally secure (John 3:16). According to the Bible, Christians can know beyond any doubt that they possess eternal life no matter what happens. This is not to say that suicide is not a serious sin against God. According to the Bible, suicide is murder; it is always wrong. Serious doubts would be raised about the genuineness of faith of anyone who claimed to be a Christian yet committed suicide. There is no circumstance that can justify someone, especially a Christian, taking his or her own life. Christians are called to live their lives for God, and the decision on when to die is God’s and God’s alone.

jesus says once you're saved, you're going to heaven if you're not, well... heaven is out of the question.

I think it depends on what religion you practice. I think 'CogitoErgoCogitoSum' gave a really good answer. Good question, it really had me thinking. +pts

the answer is more about sin in general and we all sin, i know i do, i dont want to, i am a Christian and i know i want to try and honor God to the highest, but the temptation is always there and we are not perfect. in the bible it tells us that if we are a believer or not all sin is treated the same under Gods eyes, and because we all sin does this mean we are all going to the lake of fire? the fact is we don't know and it is hard for humans to grasp this cause our minds cant comprehend what will happen. We can all try as hard as we can not to sin, and we are not to judge others for there sin, we are put on this earth not to judge, only God has the right to judge us according to the bible. i believe God is huge on grace, mercy and love, he speaks about it so much in the bible, and he loves all of us even non believers, he gives out so much love and a lot of people reject that love but he still loves them, that is pretty amazing and is comforting to me, and it is what i try to live by. God also wants you to perform at your best and to be the best you can be as a person. the bible also speaks of how Jesus died for all sin, having lived a sinless life, and for those who truly believe in him will not perish but have eternal life, and if you truly believe you will try to live by his teachings. to answer your question i dont know and it is so hard to answer, i wouldnt want anybody to take there own life because everybody has so much to give in this world, i believe God created you/me, and i want to try to honor what he has given me, i will try to live by the bible as hard as i can, but only God knows the real you/me. it comes down to faith and what you believe, and i have faith in God. i have so many questions myself to ask God when i see him.
