I really want to buy a new guitar. i work and pay some bills so i need to budget this out. can anyone tell me a good afordable brand of guitar to buy. i really like the style of the les pauls and explorers.

Go to a guitar shop and browse around. There are many different styles of guitars in just about any price range. I picked up a Peavey Raptor for just under $200.

  There's also pawn shops. Many pawn brokers buy the stuff for 10-25 cents on the dollar. Make a fair CASH offer. You might be able to get a steal.

Gibson is an expensive brand. They are nice.

I considered a Gibson but went with the equivalent Epiphone. It is made in Asia (by Samick, I think). It's no Gibson, but it is nice.

How about a used one?
