  • Yeah, my old Bub. We buried him a week or so before my kid was born, and it was a very solemn affair. We didn't hold a formal service or anything... but we are having a grave marker made for him, and we're planting a tree and a garden around his grave in the backyard. He was part of my husband's life for 12 years... Bub was as much a part of the family (if not more so) than many two-legged family members.
  • I'm sorry for your loss. :(
  • People mourn their losses in many ways. While having a funeral for a pet may seem extreme, I certainly know alot of people who have the remains of their pets (i do).. so no I wouldnt have funerals, but I would keep their remains...
  • Nippy. All of the pets are "family pets", the "family dog", the "family cats" we have taken in... and whatever rodent or fish currently presides in our home.... But Nippy is mine. Not officially but unofficially everyone knows how important she is to me. I named her (don't ask), I took care of her when she was young, when she got hit by a car I was the one that made sure she got better, when she gets sick I make sure she gets taken to the vet, I make sure she takes her meds and eats and etc. So yes, Nippy would have a funeral. Informal but she would have one.
