Different times of the day and night do produce very different results. particularly if you do not know the people very well.
-
just a question are you getting your feed back through ?
-
I kind of know what you mean. Sometimes, I am on at odd times, for a short while, and it does seem different. Im sure its just because different people are on, and I usually try to meet new people. As far as the point stingy thing, Im not sure. I cant really tell you when I get more or less points, I guess thats is up to the rest of you.

Wow. You mean there are times on AB when people are *not* stingy with points? There's something for me to look forward to, then! w00t!
-
Weekends, holidays and late night are times when the AB population is scant. Points won't flow no matter how hard you work, but later on (maybe even months) your Q or A will be pointed by someone. I just got one today from a Q from 6-7 weeks ago! There are stingy point givers constantly throughout any given day. They will answer your question but they won't point you for it. I still point them anyway because I feel it is the right thing to do, but make no mistake.....you don't owe them anything.

Yes I have noticed that, The day people are quite different than the night people. Maybe it's an insomniacs club or something :D Night people seem to give points more freely and then during the day you will see the downrates start popping up. Not that you can't get them at night but it seems more common during the daytime hours. I'm not sure why but there is a noticeable attitude difference between the day and night people.

Sounds kind of like opening day at the ball park. The home team takes the field, and you are like "Who are these guys?" Within time, they become the team you're used to seeing, then the next season starts. The team also wants to be stingy about giving away points. They then lose, and you start to realize both teams score points, just not every game, and someone has to win and lose. The the regular season ends, and the post-season playoffs start. This rambling answer had a point somewhere, hope someone could figure out where.

Yes, sometimes it's like I'm at a different site. When i first joined I couldn't type fast enough to answer questions, and dialog flowed in comment threads. Now I'm beginning to get alittle bored and lonely when i check in at certain times of the day. I always give point to people that answer my questions, even if i don't comment on their answer. I always point a question that I answer, unless the question is stupid and I'm pointing that out in my answer. it sucks when you get a great question and you post it during a time when no one is paying attention. My questions are never as good as I think they will be. Alot have already been asked, and I try not to duplicate anyone else when I can help it. I'm hoping that things will turn around in a few weeks. I actually bought a book today, so i can take a break from AB for alittle while.

I've found the same thing. I usually get on at night, and I find that if I get on during the day that the questions and answers aren't as interesting as they are later.
-
I sure have. Today I thought I was very active but when I checked my points for the day, it is less than half of yesterday even though I spent less time ABing yesterday.
-
People who are usually on with you get to know you and will answer questions, make comments, etc. in which you are involved. If you are on at a different time, there probably will not be as many people that know you and are used to interacting with you. I tend to wonder about some users I've not seen before or only once or twice.

I've certainly noticed a difference in AB at different times of the day, but it just goes to show you how wide the spectrum of membership is.
