Question

Help answer this question below.

I have a Kawasaki jet ski. It is cutting out/missing at idle/low speeds. What is most likely the problem? Beyond changing the plugs, what else is done to tune it up? Thanks....vw

Put a vacuum gauge on it. The needle should be steady at idle. If it wiggles back and forth, you have a vacuum leak. It could be in a lot of places and it could be more than one leak. The first place to check would be the carburator base gasket. Vacuum gauges cost less than twenty dollars at almost any auto parts store and are a valuable tune-up tool.
Here is a good article on the basics of tuning a motor with a vacuum gauge...

Change out your fuel filter. Thay are fairly cheap, and most likely the cause for erratic rpm fluctuations
