Create an outline before you begin. Come up with a general synopsis and then break it down into chapters. You have to make sure that you have enough of a storyline to fill a whole novel and you need to know where you are taking the story so you don't end up stuck in the middle with no conclusion. Also create detailed character back grounds. Know your characters as well as you know your best friend or mother. If they aren't real to you, they won't come across as real to your readers. And don't let yourself get trapped in an endless cycle of perfectionism, editing each line as you go. Write the first draft, let it sit for a while, then do rewrites. A great place to help you crank out your story is NaNoWriMo. It's a group of writers that come together online to write 50,000 words all in the month of November. They are very supportive because you're all in it together. I joined them last year and was able to write the first draft of my first book. I'd never written anything longer than 3,000 or so words before that! Hope this helps and good luck!

Figure out how you want it to end and begin first. That way you have a goal to reach and it doesn't end up being some amorphous text monster.

Tie the end and beginning together. In the last paragraph reference the first, it will make it look moody and deep.

since you are writing about dragons you need to be very creative and original. many write about dragons and you want to be your own author. also when you have writers block Google images on dragons or listen to some inspiring music. also, when having writers block you need to meditate and clear your mind.write whenever you can, every word makes a difference.

    peace out,
