I had an older black and decker one cup where you put your own mug underneath and it was great. I could only make one cup and just how i like it. then my sister bought me another one for Christmas (Toastess) but not as convenient. you have to use more coffee for the same strength. I think because my B&D dripped the water more spread out. this one comes out in one spot. also the reservior is narrow so you have to put the water from the mug to a flexible plastic cup to pour it in (a real pain).

I do I believe its convienent when you want your single coffee for the day and do not want a whole pot, but I prefer the other being I am a coffee drinker and it can be kind of a pain to have to keep making a cup at a time. So basically I believe it would be all about preference.

We have one at work, so after years of a shared pot of always-heating coffee, this is a joy. (Keurig brand.) Great coffee every time. On the drive to work, I think about that first fresh cup of the day. Great stuff. My complaint is that it's awfully wasteful. In our large company, we probably throw out about one thousand of those plastic pods each day. they can't be recycled because they have metallicized lids and they are full of wet coffee grounds. That's my complaint about them. It pains me to throw them in the garbage.
