  • your computer can be tracked...whether they can find you depends on how your computer is registered...
  • how else do you think that they find all the people on the computer looking at child porn and other sick things that they should not be looking at. the ip address of your computer is how they can track you.
  • yes. It's harder to track down those who use things like internet cafe or school librarys because different people use the same IP # but if it's directly hooked up to your house then yes
  • Most people do not have the know how, so for people in general, NO ... however, it is very possible to get an IP address ... then use it to get more info by hacking into your internet service provider's client data base to get a client name and a physical address, so for some people, YES ... of course a court ordered warrant helps.
  • Not exactly. They can track down the computer you were using. Unless you're REALLY computer savvy, there really isn't such a thing as anonymity on the Internet.
  • Yes in certain circumstances and if they know exactly how to do it. Most people dont have the means or knowledge i dont think to pinpoint your EXACT whereabouts
  • Your ISP keeps a log so in a criminal case that would require a court order. But the general public although they can track your IP, that only gives your unique address to ISP and no other information. It would take some serious hacking (or having a freind that worked at the provider)....but for general purpose worry, no.
  • Only if they worked for Homeland Security.
  • hello, ive been told that people can do this, and judging from an answer i just saw i guess its true.you have to be a pretty smart cookie to break the code of finding other peoples addresses and phone numbers.if this is true, last year i got a guy who was on my yahoos im shooting dirty messages to me,i found out he was a pediphille,i notified yahoo and he was canned,if he couldve had the chance then id be up the crick without a paddle by now.i guess he was a dumb one.
  • they can track down you and know the area you are living but not in details, however, if they hacked in your computer and get your privacy info, they can know that.
  • Yep I have your location locked in..your name social security number and you bank info..I'll be right over..LOL
  • Peoplefinder.com can track anyone whose name appears in public records. I know because I've used it. They also have phone numbers. All this stuff is a matter of public record if you know where to look.
  • They can locate where the computer you used is, but they can't find out who you are. Only your ISP has that information. An IP is only the address of the computer, it doesn't say who is using the computer.
