That would be a waste because long distance relationships doesn't last long at all.... trust me i have been in your shoes before.

i have found out the hard way that long distance relationships DO NOT LAST. if you only met her briefly, (camping, im assuming it wasnt that long) dont spend the time and money trying to make this work.

"Faint Heart Never Won Fair Lady."

Long Distance relationships are hard to maintain, but that's not to say that they're not worthwhile.

The first thing you have to determine is whether she is interested in you.
Write her some charming but honest letters.

    Yes, letters.

From her responses, you can see if YOU are interested. I don't believe in "True Love at First Sight."
At first, you're in love with your fantasy. It takes time to Really Know.

That should lead to phone calls (hopefully, you have a good calling plan. A cousin had to pay off $16,000 in phone bills that her son incurred. Not good).

Unless you still need a parent to drive, you Can visit her occasionally.

    If you can afford to.

Was that 10 hours by car (500 miles), or flight time (5,000 miles)?

    Good Luck!

if your in grade school i would write it off as one of many boyhood crushes you will have...But if your an adult (i have no way of knowing which) i say to you that its not the question of whether its a "waste of time" to ask the question but in how much "time will you waste" thinking about weather she'd of said yes had you asked!

If you asked her out and she said "yes" how then would you follow through with a date?
