  • By the principle of the excluded middle, either there are true psychics or else all the so-called psychics are fake. In the latter case, "psychics" would clearly have no better success at winning the lottery than anyone else. Besides that, "psychics" are a minority of the population, so the odds are that whoever does win isn't a "psychic." Now, consider the case that there is at least one true psychic. The next question is what type of psychic it is. A mind reader wouldn't be able to do anything with the lottery, as lottery picks are made by a machine rather than a human. A telekinetic might be able to manipulate the selection. He would need to be able to work from a distance, though, as if he tried to get close to the equipment, he'd be caught and arrested. I doubt that anyone is capable of such delicate manipulation from any great distance. One expects that a precognitive would be able to predict the result of a lottery drawing, but this may not be the case. Lottery drawings are purely random events. They can therefore be predicted only if the universe is strictly deterministic. To the best of our knowledge, the universe is not deterministic (a consequence of quantum theory). Therefore, lottery predictions are unlikely. Precognition, if it exists at all, would probably work only for non-stochastic processes (such as human decision-making). Besides these considerations, there is also an ethical matter to consider. Using precognition or telekinesis to win the lottery is cheating. Some people might be willing to cheat, but not everyone is so unethical. It might be the case that all the psychics happen to be ethical people, and thus none would be manipulating the lottery. I believe that covers all of the applicable cases.
  • Because you're not suppose use your powers for personal gain...
  • They do:
  • Knowing the winning number and actually being able to get a hold of it may be two different things.
  • I have heard that their psychic abilities do not extend to themselves.
  • Because that would be unethical.
  • No one is deliberately psychic. You can't learn it or demand when to turn it on or off. It usually comes when it wants to, which has absolutely nothing to do with when you want it to appear or work its magic for you. Psychics are psychic by accident, not design. Most of the things you find out as a psychic are totally useless, and frequently embarassing. Nobody is a psychic all the time. That would be horrifying. If a psychic tried to intuit the numbers for a lottery, they would most likely end up with the street address of the ticket sellers girlfriend, or the last digits of the clerks i.d. or nothing at all.
  • Because perhaps no one is truly psychic to the extent to be able to pick all the correct numbers ?
  • because they are better of helping out with other priorities.
  • Because it's a scam gypsies used to do hundreds of years ago, now, just about anyone can succesfully pull it off.
  • I knew you were gonna say that.
  • LOL, don't know, maybe they have to register their 'powers' and are banned from all gambling establishments?
  • Because, big surprise here, THEY'RE FAKE !! *GASP*
  • DUH ! That's totally like cheating !
  • they see the possible unhappiness that comes with money
  • "That's not the way it works" is their standard response I believe. (What a pile of shite)
  • Because their psychic abilities can not be used, and don't work on their personal lives....."God" knew that to be able to learn their lessons in this life that it had to be that way.....So when it comes to a lottery..Their no different than you or me.
  • Extreme emotions interfere with accurate intuition. The fear of being wrong, or the excitement of believing that you could win would make it hard to accurately perceive the truth. Most people have an entirely misconstrued perception of psychics, as if they're some vessel of universal knowledge incapable of ever being wrong, and they're not. Yes, they have a skill which if finely honed can give them the ability to accurately relay important information, but it's not like they're Gods among men, they make mistakes too. The difference is that generally these mistakes aren't caused so much by "receiving the wrong information" as they are by misinterpreting the information because of how they feel about it. "psychic information" is that uncannily accurate information that still has to filter through the human mind....which can often distort information. Anyone who has ever had a gut feeling where they should do something and then ignored that feeling only to have it bite them in the ass understands this. You have this deep seated pull to do what needs to be done and yet your mind will sometimes argue it "why would I take the longer way to work today? It will take longer, I'm already running late....." and bam, the "shorter" way actually was backed up with a car accident that day. And just as normal people try to rationalize their way out of intuitive moments, less practiced psychics can do the same thing....fear / excitement can effect these things. This is also why it's easier for psychics to give readings to people they don't know then to read themselves, there's less emotion attached to the information they're receiving. Just as doctors have doctors and therapists have therapists, psychics have psychics....
  • Because it's all bullshit.
  • The skeptical answer would be that psychic powers do not truly exist. However, there are other views. And of course, how do you really want to know that they never win the lottery? 1) "Five reasons: 1. It's unethical to use their ability for personal gain, and they lose their attainment connection if they try. 2. If they do try, they can lose their abilty instantly. 3. They actually do win and just keep quiet about it. 4. Some are simply frauds to begin with. Psychics gain their ability by being unworldly and objectively detached. When they become concerned and have some passionate personal interest in the affairs of the world, things can go either way. You can't have your cake and eat it too. To be a good psychic you have to surrender yourself for the needs of others. Good psychics usually don't give others such winning info either because it's not in the spiritual development interess of their clients to win more than others either. The last time I had a girlfriend talking me into getting lottery tickets, I simply decided beforehand to get tickets that merely paid for themselves (and did of course). When i play games like monopoly, I secretly pride myself in winning by deciding who else will get to win, a kid if one is playing. One of the biggest psychics in our area is the wife of a billionaire real-estate investor. She doesn't even mention the fact in any of her ad blurbs. I had to do some background research on her to find out that one. It was kinda my mission for awhile to keep tabs on my peers. I used to run around doing free tarot readings for tarot readers back then to troubleshoot their client-advice interactions and such." "Oh, I could add one more thing. Psychics aren't immune to karma, and if you are looking for gain above your needs, it's essentially theft to abuse your gift. You have your types like your nichiren buddhists chanting for specific material prosperity, and they do indeed it get it, but they are oblivious that the tragic losses elsewhere they soon encounter are directly related. The tao te ching is a system of balance in change, like a snaking river. You can put a bend in for someone (even for tthe whole world), but it then bends back the other way too." You get impressions, you feel certain about some things, but you can never be 100% certain about something until it happens. Yes, I would venture to say that you should never bet the bankroll on your predictions, even that super-strong prediction you had just the other day. It’s always healthy to have a little skepticism, even when we’re promoting the idea that psychic powers exist within everyone. The advantage to developing psychic powers is to get a solid base of intuition. Learn to trust yourself, and in particular, learn to trust your emotions about things which you shouldn’t have a right to know. Yes, I do believe that you can receive messages from “out there” and that communicating with spirits and using your connections to your soul energy can provide you some answers to life’s toughest questions. Learning to trust and interpret these signs is an incredible ability which we can all develop. But going back to the main question, is it fair to use a randomized system like the lottery as a way to test psychic skills? No. Even if you are able to correctly predict 60% of the numbers, you will still have almost no chance of doing well on a psychic skills test like this." • As someone who has actually seen psychic powers in operation (remote viewing) I can say that psychic powers exist, BUT as far as I know they are not "refined" enough to profit in that manner.
  • Because psychics don't exist, silly. They can't read minds or predict future events any better than you or I can using our intuition. Because lotteries are so random and the chances of winning are incredibly low, it is very unlikely that one of these frauds will win.
  • Probably for a number of reasons. Some are no more psychic than you or I. Some don't have that kind of ability over their gift - they see what they are given, not what they choose. Or perhaps it's one of those things where they are unable to see things that affect them or that they themselves might gain from. Then again, there may be psychics that we don't know are psychics winning something else, the just don't say they are psychic, so you never really know.
  • they are fake
  • because they are not divine. They are just like you and me, regular people.
  • Because %99.99 of them are fakes.
  • Psychics run the lottery and therefore can not win. Employees of the lottery commission are not allowed to collect winnings. (what does the smiley for I am lying look like?)
  • Ever heard the word FAKE. They will face God on judgement for that bunch of nonsense.
  • I'd bet that they do, sometimes. (Is this a loaded question?)
  • Usually because what they are psychic about is not related to money and even when it is, it's not related to them. That gives them the same chance as anyone else.
  • They might win it often though keep quiet the fact that they have these abilities. It would be a mistake to admit to this and draw suspicion to themselves.
  • They will tell you they cant see "their" future.
  • Just because a person can see, does not mean they can see whatever they wish.
  • In reference to the video: They may "Claim" to be psychic, but they bought the ticket on a "Premonition" big difference there... "Having a "Feeling" is one thing. If they "Knew" they'd win, then one ticket would have sufficed.
  • Gee, maybe it's because they are phonies.
  • They don't want to use their powers for evil?
  • Psyshics are phoney as TV Wrestling.
