  • It is in England where I live.
  • Yes, and it already is. Alcohol should be illegal too, they only cause problems.
  • What, like Dandelions?
  • You asked this in the category "Illict Drugs" in this category are sub categorys "cocaine, heroin, pcp etc. . ." and yet Marijuana isn't listed, you know why, because pot isn't an "Illict Drug", marijuana isn't even a drug. It should be legal for many reasons that some people *cough* christians *cough* will never understand.
  • I personally hate the shit, but because I don't like it's effects personally. However, I do NOT think it should be illegal. I would miss alcohol (not terribly) if it were illegal, but it should be. Alcohol is way more dangerous.
  • I don't think it should be illegal. Supposedly in North-American society we have personal freedoms and our laws are based on social philosophy (the harm principle, etc.), not on a particular group's moral systems, so I really don't see how we can justify keeping weed illegal. Alcohol is legal, so why not weed? Alcohol has negative side effects, in fact when you consider alcoholism it has a huge side effect both on individuals and on the government (drain on the medical system, etc.). Weed isn't physically addictive and doesn't pose the kind of drain on the medical system that alcohol does. I do think it definitely should be regulated. After all, it is a drug, and I don't think kids should drink alcohol so I don't think they should smoke pot. But responsible adults should have the legal right to smoke it, within moderation. If they become publicly disorderly because of it, or drive while under the influence, they should be punished just as they would be if they did that because of alcohol. I can think of many positive effects of legalization. For instance the resources the cops put into enforcing that law could go where they're really needed. Also, the organized crime that controls pot would take a big hit, because most people would want to buy it legally. Also, for those of us who would buy it legally, we would get a cleaner product, and we wouldn't run the risk of getting in trouble with the law. It would also be easier: we could go to the marijuana store to buy some, instead of having to hook up with shady dealers. Also, although hemp isn't illegal, maybe taking the bad press away from pot would result in more hemp harvesting (a great renewable resource, better than wood or cotton, that really isn't used as much as it could be). Also, it could be a crown corporation, like alcohol is where I live, and so could provide income for the government. Also it would improve tourism (which my city in particular is so freaking big on).
  • fuck yeah but in where i live in NJ cops don't really care, as long as you don't sell it to kids
  • no because it's better for you than cigarettes and cigarettes aren't natual. weeds all natual
  • HELL yea it does less harm to u then cigarettes
  • personally, i love weed. i do not think it should be legal thou. MAinly, because in america, it wil be taken over by the dirtyass goverment. they will ban it from being sold on the streets and being grown, and make it themselves, then add things to make it addictive and sell it like cigs. they should keep it illegal, but reduce the punishment to a fine. like underaged cigs, no court, no bullshit, just like 80$ for possesion.
  • No, it's too damned much trouble to enforce it. It should be treated like tobacco. I has the side effect of affecting sort term memory retention and makes people less capable and more dangerous in some jobs, so there needs to be some sort of regulation.
  • Sure, and it would bring in much in tax dollars,at least as much as cigarettes.Look at alcohol, which is legal. It is bad for the health if overused, causes people to think irrationally and violently,I wrecks homes and family relationships.Weed does not do these things.
  • well i think it should be treated like alcohal just instead of drink you smoke it and have the same laws
  • Yes, absolutely
  • No. Calling it "weed" should be, though.
  • Without a doubt, I actually think all drugs should be legal, and no I don't touch them, but the fact that they are illegal is not a deterrent for those that engage. In fact this would cut down on our over populated jails, and as others have mentioned it should be taxed (and regulated) which would help decrease our ever increasing deficit, and create more jobs. ITS A WIN WIN FOR ALL
  • Yes. Then they could make money taxing the hell out it! California might get out of debt!
  • WHY IS WEED ILEGAL? I DONT THINK IT SHOULD BE. PEOPLE SAY ONE REASON ITS ILLEGAL IS BECUASE IT HAS A QUICK SIDE EFFECT, WHICH CAUSES PEOPLE TO BE DIZZY AND VIOLENT? THAT IS A STEROTYPE. LIKE MY TEACHER SAY " LEAVE THE BULLSHIT AT THE DOOR" HAHAHAHA. THE ONLY SIDE EFFECT IT HAS TO ME IS IT MAKES YOU HUNGRY AND DIZZY. NOTHING TOO HARMFUL. UNLIKE OTHER "LEGALIZED" PRODUCTS OF DRUGS, THAT THE GOVERNMENT APPROVES OF. ALCOHOL FOR EXAMPLE IS A VERY DANGEROUS DRUG, I HEAR ABOUT ALCOHOL EVERY DAY DESTROYING FAMILIES, DESTROYING A PERSONS ABILITY TO BE STABLE AND BE FAMILIAR WITH THERE SURROUNDINGS, IN ONE CASE SOMEONE TOLD ME THAT ALCOHOL KILLED HALF OF THEIR FAMILY. ME PERSONALY I HATE DRINKING, ALL IT DOES IS MAKE ME THROW UP, HURTS MY STOMACH, MAKES ME FEEL SICK. IT FUCKING GROSS. ( TO EVERYONE WHO DRINKS, DONT GET OFFENDED WHEN PEOPLE WHO SMOKE BRING UP ALCOHOL, AND ASKS WHY ITS LEGAL AND WEED ISNT?) THE POINT IS BOTH ARE A DRUG, BOTH CAN HAVE BIG SIDE EFFECTS DEPENDING ON THE PERSON. YET ONE IS ILLEGAL AND THE OTHER ISNT? ITS DUMB. WEED SHOULD BE LEGAL! PS. I BET YOU THE GOVERNMENT HAS ALOT TO DO WITH THAT, AND SOME WAY OR ANOTHER THEY ARE DOING ALOT OF ILLEGAL THINGS THEMSELVES WHEN IT COMES TO WEED. THE GOVERNMENT IS A BIG REASON WHY DRUGS ARE ON THE STREETS. IN MY OPINION THEY PUT IT ON THE STREETS, SO POLICE CAN KEEP A JOB BY FUCKING WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE MINDING THERE BUSINESS.
  • i'm always fighting with myself over this. i was taught that it's bad and therefore shouldn't be touched. my boyfriend smokes it and i've tried it a handful of times now. it's not as bad as media makes it. in a way, i wish it was legal so this topic wouldn't bother me. probably one of my concerns is that it's a gateway drug. i haven't tried other drugs but my boyfriend has...much harder...i hate that... *correction, i tried dxm though.
