In Mid-late 80's there was a jazzy, hip hop, mostly instrumental tune who's MTV video featured a trumpet player on and off. there was some light raping ryming and said Funky, Funky, Funky, and ziggy ziggy bop...tune had bluesy piano riff throughout song

    Yes. The main singer is named Q-tip. He was in the band "Tribe Called Quest"
