  • Real deal in that he is a preeminent prestidigitator. He blows minds and perceptions of reality. Isn't that what people in his profession supposed to do? Personally, I think his tricks and stunts are awesome.
  • He is a Magician...definitely fake, however; highly entertaining...
  • It depends all on you. Others think he's a great illusionist, others think he's an awesome magician. Others think he's a fake, and others think he has a pact with the devil just because the way he dresses. I personally think he's a great illusionist. Not only do his tricks look extremely believable, but the fact he's not fancy with the smoke like david copperfield, makes it all more believable. Take your own opinion, and watch some of his tricks on youtube. You'll be surprised. Yet there is no proof that proves him to be a fake, it's all magic.
  • I don't know, I'm sure there's a "trick" somewhere, of course, but he is really good!
  • i know that he is real and fake but that doesn't mean i dislike him or his tv shows it's somthing to entertain me anymore in this world so i'll always be a criss angel fan no matter what and come to think of it he's worked hard on freaking people out but like i said he can be real then he can be fake who knows.
  • I'm not sure what he is, but he is very good at it! I raelly enjoy the show and alot of the stunts or tricks he performs. It really makes you think.
  • Hes Not Fake. Hes an Illusionist. He Tricks the mind. He does not do magic. Hes not Harry Potter. So he is real as it gets.
  • Both he and David Blaine are fakes. That is, they are not true illusionist. They rely mostly on camera tricks to fool watchers that they are seeing it as it happened. Most people in the audience are not in a position to see the illusion verry well, and they splice reaction shots to make it look like people are more impressed then the "entire" audience really is. He is not a professional Illusionist, he is a TV actor!
  • Chris angel does things that totally blow the mind, and therefor hes doing his job and that is being someone or something that people cant explain. So fake or not he entertains people enough to debate it.
  • He would need to take a few acting lessons for me to be convinced he's talented in his field.
  • i think some of criss' tricks are real and some not.hes show is cool to watch though
  • I'd go with... complete ass.
  • I Know How To Do Some Of His Tricks....But Hes The Real Deal Half The Time N.E.Ways bcuz my cousins went n saw him in Vegas an in NY. I Truly LOVE him. But I Know How He Set Himself On Fire N Walk On Water. Pretty Simple But I Still Like Him. He's An Illusionist. He's Meant To Trick The Minds Eye...umm most of his tricks are REAL!. But Yeah Don't Waste You Time Sitten in front of your T.V Trying To Figure It Out, Hes Meant For Entertainement (SP?). Hope Dat Helps I'm Outtie Cara
  • a really good faker!!!!
  • I enjoy his show, he does exactly what he's meant to. He's brilliant and all I have to say to those who say he isn't a real illusionist is if he is as bad as you people say why has he won the magician of the year award more then once in a row? That right there proves that he is in fact real to an extent. However everyone knows magic isn't real, its for entertainment purposes to keep people thinking how did they do that and give them something to believe in.
  • All of them are fake. It's illusion. It's not real. Like that one time he sawed that girl in half and she ran away with half a body. Well, she was a midget with legs that were hidden. He just made it look like she was a normal sized woman with half a body running away.
  • We have all witnessed it on the streets and on our television sets. Why to question his talents. Why only he? David blane is there even the great David copper field.
  • criss is so freaken freaky it,s awsome i wish i could be as mind blowing as he i,m in love with that mindfreak
  • David Blaine should kiss Criss's ass. Honestly, I'm not sure if either of them are fake or real. They are both illusionists and at the end of the day they are supposed to entertain the audience. Criss entertains while David scares.
  • Magic can't be real, he's good at his "tricks",btw he looks HOTTTT.
  • All illusions are fake, if you think different you are a moron. That does not mean they cannot be entertaining. Keep your perspective in reality and enjoy the show!
  • He's real, a real illusionist.
  • FAKE.... all in the camera - until someone I know sees him live, I will continue to believe that he is a terrible illusionist.
  • some of his tricks are fake like how he levates.
  • He uses post production work, post production cuts, special effects, actors, studios, and props, but he is a great entertainer.
  • First off he's an artist. Secondly, he's an entertainer. Like it or not, admit it or not, Criss is a very good magician. Most magicians really seek to entertain, not challenge the the spectators on whether or not they can "catch" him or "bust" him. It is done to merely amuse you for a moment or two and be a fun interaction with another individual or group of people.
  • Fake is you believe him to be. Real if you believe him to be. It's your decision.
  • he's half real half fake,if you watch the video where he's.walking on water thers's an asian woman in the pool at the end of the video.now focus on her,and look at the video where he levitates from building to building at the end the same woman appears.this leads me to believe that she was hired to make the feeling more real.
  • No, I was thinking more like "flake". I don't know whether he is fake or not. From what I can tell, he's just a masochistic goth with an attention-seeking problem.
  • I think his tricks are kind of cool, but Jesus, that guy is the biggest douche I've ever seen in my entire life. Seriously, listen to what he says, he's just a gigantic douche. If I were Spanish I would call him El Douche Gigante
  • I believe camera angles, sleight of hand, confidence and well thought out props help to make his tricks seem more realistic. The tricks themselves are all illusion, but the amount of practice required to pull them off is extraordinary. I wouldn't say he's a fake. Just extremely dedicated to what he does.
  • if a camera can make Stallone appear 6ft. and make Matt Damon into a badass and Tobey Maguire into the ultimate superhero imagine what the trickery of a camera lens could do for a trained professional like Angel - saw his show the other night where he lifts a car 4ft. off the ground - there's guys 3x his size who lift there whole life some as a profession that couldn't equivocate that feat of strength - I'll take nothing away from the guy he's definately great at what he does - just like Blaine - but these guys can't fly, or walk on water, eat glass, lift cars, or pick lottery numbers - there's a reason why its called an illusion - the mind can sometimes see what it wants to see - Angel is nothing more than a great Acid trip
  • All illusionists are fake in some way or another. However, Criss Angel is bogus because unlike a live stage magician or a REAL street magician, in many of the "tricks" he does, the ENTIRE live audience can see exactly how it's done; only the TV viewers are fooled because he uses camera tricks, editing, digital effects, etc., and/or bribes or convinces his whole (live) audience to pretend to be amazed. I don't have a problem with illusions being "tricks", as long as the tricks are not obvious to everyone who sees them in person. I don't have a problem with illusionists using one or a few "confederates" who are in on the trick, when they're part of a larger audience who don't know and who don't spot the gag during the performance. It's when an illusion is so contrived as to be just like a movie special effect, where none of it looked like anything special in reality at the time it was taped, that's when I get disgusted. Criss, you're not entertaining to me anymore. That goes for you too, David Blaine. Criss uses a mixture of about half "classic" illusions (appearing unexplainable to most of the people who see them in person) and half bogus illusions that only become confounding after editing and digital compositing for TV. Examples: classic- -woman pulled apart -criss goes through glass without breaking it -criss is placed atop spiked fence and soon becomes impaled -criss vanishes from atop outdoor cafe table bogus- -car plows criss through concrete block wall -criss vanishes in middle of motorcycle jump through fireball -criss levitates between rooftops -criss makes humvee and more than a dozen soldiers appear out of nowhere in middle of military base The first two of the bogus tricks I listed were so bad, that he didn't even have a live audience present. I guess he didn't want word to get out that he's not a real illusionist, just a bad actor for the video editors to work their own completely different form of "magic" upon.
  • he's not a fake or anything. he's just an illusionist. he's really good at it in my opinion. he can definately blow my mind with the stunts and tricks he pulls. i would never be able to do those. it takes alot of experience and hes very committed to entertaining. he's amazing.
  • hes so fake
  • Major fake. I don't know how he does it, but I know the people who are the "by-standers" are a setup.
  • What do you mean fake? He claims to be an entertainer and thats exactly what he does.
  • he is an illusionist. If it were rel magic, it wouldn't be an ilusion
  • Yes, he's a magician, and I'm sure some of what he does he does (mainly the close-up magic he performs) uses standard magicians' techniques. However, some of his "major" illusions and stunts (e.g. floating between two roof tops) just scream fake (e.g. camera trickery, stooges) to me (and I write as an amateur magician with 30 years' experience or more).
  • I have heard alot of peoples oppinions and have watched all the videos on his tricks. Criss Angel pulls off tricks that no video on the internet can explain. He is a real mind freak capable of minipulating the reality around him .Call me close minded but I have studied quantum and particle physics aswell as modern day magic "chaos magic" backed by scientific theory and mathematics even. I can only come to one conclusion. It is undeniable. We can manifest and minipulate reality. Our mind can travel back and forward in time (but only along the most probable time line of events) It is starting to be recognised today in the form of movies such as "the secret" and "what the bleep do we know". I recommend both the movies as they give a very basic understanding of the mind and what it is capable of. Let me put it in a way that might make it more believable for the non-believers. Our body is made of cells which in turn are made of atoms, which are made of electrons orbiting a nucleus with the nuclues being made from protons and neutrons which are made of quarks and so on and so forth, but at the most funemental level there is only one thing from which every thing else is composed of, not millions of this one thing but only one thing. We are all essentially connected at the most fundemental level. It is seen in chaos mathematics that a totally probabalistic system can form patterns, and that one tiny change anywhere in the system will have drastic implications on the whole system, little changes can have big effects. This is how I essentially explain how real magic is easily possible if one truly believes and has enough control over their mind, due to the fact that everything is essentially connected and one single system, if our thoughts are powerful enough and concertrated in the right way, the sytem will show changes that may seem external (such as lifting a pen with your mind) but are actually very connected to you and your input. That is probably the quickest explenation of these concepts I have given but thanx for hearing my opinion and if anyone is new to (or already has an interest in) these theories and concepts i'm always looking for more abstract thinkers to share my ideas with and learn the ideas others have to offer. There are an infinite amount of possibilities and yet we are confined to the most likely of them. P.S. - We interbred with aliens thousands of years ago and in 2012 they will come and save the few who understand the way of the new age.
  • hes the real deal
  • I have proof that at least one of his tricks is a total fake. In the episode where chris crawls out of a manhole, closes the top, and throws his gloves on top of the whole, he then walks back far enough to where the camera cant see the manhole. Chris does a little stretch and turns around and clearly walks back to a different manhole that was not in the previous shot. Cris removes a different pair of gloves from the manhole and rolls it up like seen in a cartoon.
  • It is very real illusionist magic. key word being illusion. Also know as slight of hand, and the like. He is very skilled at what he does, but it is all about misdirection.
  • depends as to what you mean by fake or real deal? fake - he is an illusionist/entertainer. he doesnt claim to be supernatural - he makes money entertaining (like an actor)
  • He will tell you himself that he is only an illusionist, and a damn good one at that. No David Blane is a freak.
  • Does anybody here watch wrestling...there is your answer...we all know it's fake...but we love it anyway. Angel entertains, there is no question about that. With any magic trick we know it is an illusion...some sort of trick. I have one small problem with him however...I think a alot of his stuff is done with actors and film editing. A good illusion is done live in front of an audience...like Copperfield.
  • Slight of hand. He is awesome.
  • I really think hes an Alien from another planet...he's crazy, I want to know how he does the things he does so bad!!!
  • hes a grade A douche!! BUT hes the real deal holyfield
  • i agreed with LostCreek.
  • i think he is a POO HEAD. i dont really like poo so i dont really like him but it does depend somepeople like poo, and therefore like him. i think poo is discusting so i stopped pooing now, its just too dirty. its like taking a horse down to the river and trying to get it to drink, its just not happening.
