  • Your shouldn't need software to make a will. In fact all you should need is a decent form or set of forms or examples to do a legal document of this nature. Your best bet is to go to the Legal Library - usually in the county seat. The Legal Librarian will be able to point you to the proper forms and even books on the subject. To get you started: http://www.wikihow.com/Write-Your-Own-Last-Will-&-Testament I have both a last will and a living will (the first deals with my estate and property when I do kick the bucket, the last deals with such things as heroic measures, when to pull the plug, it even deals with who can and can not get dibs on my body parts). I wrote both of them myself initially. Later when I acquired more cra... stuff I got a lawyer to cross the T's and dot the i's. If you research it enough you will get enough education on how to write your own wills and also to know when its best to have a lawyer write one. A link or two: http://www.cemeterybroker.com/willinformation.htm http://www.medlawplus.com/library/legal/lastwillandtestamentform.htm Do you need a lawyer? Yes if you know that there are people who will contest your will, or who will take it to court to get more, or to have something else done to your body or not allow a Significant Other basic rights. If you need a lawyer, or suspect that there can be a problem, then don't go with a computer form or something you get off the net, get yourself a real lawyer in your hometown who deals specifically in wills and what not along those lines.
  • I searched for you, but couldn't turn up anything free. I would go to your local Office Depot or BestBuy and pick up a copy in their software section. I can't imagine it would be more than $19.99 or so. It's well worth the price and usually covers all the basics of various wills and such. sorry I couldn't find you anything. If one turns up, I'll comment with the link. I have used LegalZoom before for registering patents, and they do the job for a fair price. Here's the link to their Wills section. http://www.legalzoom.com/wills-estate-planning/wills-estate-planning.html
