  • For some gangs, that's how it is. They kill you if you try to leave. For others, you can leave but often you have to be "jumped out." Basically a bunch of them beat the shit out of you. I'm sure in some others you can just leave.
  • As a therapist, I once had a client who quit, but he only did so after being shot, relocating to another area of our state and being taken in by a foster family, school and classmates who genuinely loved him. Before that, it was the only "real" family he had ever known and even given the grave dangers, he had been unwilling to move on.
  • There was a submission in one of the "Dear Abby" books a few years ago. A woman had a wild life, then settled down, married; the typical Taxpayer lifestyle. • some gangs will do sum messed up stuff to you like chop off your limbs or just murder you,but a less strict gang would shoot you in the leg arm etc.thats why when your in you usually dont want to get out because of the consequences
  • Even the gangs themselves are proud to announce to you (and to anyone listening) that you are in for life, baybee. No ifs, ands or buts.
  • It's only in ORGANIZED crime that you are not really allowed to leave your gang. Small time gangs who try to copy the mafia usually diminish faster, and those who don't usually just grow out of it to make something of themselves. So unless we're talking bloods, crips, disciples, kings, or certain nationality based mafias; it doesn't always work that way.
