  • It's called perspective. From a Russian perspective Americans are loud brash bullies intent on extending their interpretation of life and the universe on the world. Meanwhile Russians are linked to a rich heritage etc etc. Back in America from an American perspective Russia is acting out of line (ie. in a way that doesn't promote American interest). Every country has this dichotomy in its relations with the world. For example, in Britain, the IRA are terrorists. To the die-hard Catholic Irish they are freedom fighters liberators. The Israel Palestinian situation is similar. Talking of the Middle East, when do you think Russia is going to invade?
  • The last time Russia "Liberated" my country along with murders, rapes and stealing on a large scale by the Russians, communism came for 50 years. This wasn't a singular case. Maybe that's why when Russians start "liberating", I (and many other people) feel a chill down my spine. When USA "liberates" something I usually expect the following 1. mass enthusiasm and discourses on freedom and democracy 2. Then if the war takes too long the usually unavoidable military mess and civilian casualties 3. the Americans discover that really in their heart of hearts they are pacifists. 4. They leave whatever country they liberated citing their new found pacifism without looking back 5. The invaded country becomes a dictatorship (thx to mass break-down of government during the war) or is taken over by an international force for monitoring and peace-keeping or the country recovers. This sends a chill up my spine I prefer the USA chill down my spine. It's not "good versus evil" its " bad versus worst"
  • sorry but no one called USA heros for iraq. And how many of those nations were European democracies fighting a civil war?
