That is the question!
-
Well in writting essays in school I am not alowed to use any forms of the phrase "to be" so in that instance it is not to be. However I would much rather be and I currently am. If your answering this question then you "be" so that never was really the question. However, if your asking this in a deeper way of "do you believe in fate" (was it to be or not), then to some extent. Things happen for a reason and undeniably one thing causes another to occur. Some things are meant to be and others are not.
-
I would say.."To Be". To be what, Im not sure. But okay.."To Be".
-
To be
-
I would say to be. Roll and dice and hop on board!
-
To be. Otherwise your existance is all for naught.
-
i think to be,just because.
-
to be implies existances, not to be the opposite. In light of this i choose to be, as i'd hope everyone else on answerbag would do the same.
-
Not to be. Because its Shakespeare, and he's not around anymore, writing about a bloke who wasn't around even when it first was performed. It'd freak me out if they were "to be" right now. Plus no one else has made an argument solely for "not to be"
-
not to be.. just becuz... everyone said to be
-
To beee
-
To be, hopefully. When Hamlet asked that question, he was debating suicide.
-
To be. At least until the house is paid for.
-
To Be, I have made up my mind to be! yes, I will , I will be. therefore, I now, am ! I did not like, not being , so, i changed to, be! Its simple when you finaly make up your mind ! what about you ?
-
to be! I'll take it
-
Hmm.....that is the question! To be. Death offers no hope for better times.
-
To be.

To be.
-
To be! That is the answer!
-
To be, or not to be: that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, And by opposing end them?
-
To be of course - if it was not to be, where would we be!
-
maybe
-

-
to be a good father, son and brother, and not to be a jerk. but it doesnt always work out that way
-
To be .................. on holiday

SORRY DUPLICATED To be, or not to be: that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep; No more; and by a sleep to say we end The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep; To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub; For in that sleep of death what dreams may come When we have shuffled off this mortal coil, Must give us pause: there's the respect That makes calamity of so long life; For who would bear the whips and scorns of time, The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely, The pangs of despised love, the law's delay, The insolence of office and the spurns That patient merit of the unworthy takes, When he himself might his quietus make With a bare bodkin? who would fardels bear, To grunt and sweat under a weary life, But that the dread of something after death, The undiscover'd country from whose bourn No traveller returns, puzzles the will And makes us rather bear those ills we have Than fly to others that we know not of? Thus conscience does make cowards of us all; And thus the native hue of resolution Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought, And enterprises of great pith and moment With this regard their currents turn awry, And lose the name of action. - Soft you now! The fair Ophelia! Nymph, in thy orisons Be all my sins remember'd. William Shakespeare

William Shakespeare - To be, or not to be (from Hamlet 3/1) To be, or not to be: that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep; No more; and by a sleep to say we end The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation Devoutly to be wish'd. -
Well, only if you're a disturbed Danish prince whose father was murdered by the man now married to your mother...
-
Yes. We have to think about the decisions we make and the outcome of those decisions. To be honest, even if it hurt someone's feelings or not to be honest and have them mislead by your dishonesty? For every action, there's a consequence and reaction. Therefore, yes, to be or not to be IS the question.
-
It is the ultimate question: Is there a point in being? Is there a meaning to life?
-
To be Richard Simmons.
-
that is the question!
-
Was that the question?
-
Thats NOT the qusetion
-
To be what?
-
I think I'll be, but then again not to be sounds good. No, I have decided, I am going to be! Unless of course you think not to be might be better. Oh dear, I am now in a total quandary. Shall I be or not? I'm going to be, I'll decide in the morning.
-
I be ....
-
Usually, I'd take the "not to be" approach. However, I've decided I gotta spice up my life a little. To be!
-
Shakespeare seemed to think so!
-
I like not being, it's much less effort : )
-
Well, then what's the answer?
-
Not to be...really cant say more than that.
-
To BE! Life is about risks and a person only learns from their mistakes :D
-
To be...lol :)
-
Sock puppet that's the answer. If you can't beat um cheat um.
-
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune or to take arms against a sea of troubles. That's all the Hamlet I can muster right now.
-

That is the question. Is that the question?

-
To be is the only way.

-
I was but then quickly seen a doctor and got rid of it.
-
Whether 'tis Nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing, end them. To die, to sleep; No more.

Sorry, that was actually last weeks question. Didn't you get the memo? Yea, we must have removed you from our mailing list. I guess that means I can't tell you what the new question is...
-
To be. Best to stay away from negatives, like "not"
-
And giving up is no answer, so it has to be 'be'.
-
"We are such stuff as dreams are made on, and our little life is rounded with a sleep."
-
Not to be (and to be in secret) and then to be out in the open, and then things take a very tragic turn - and you both kill yourselves (because of a misunderstanding), finally not to be...
-
to be
-
To be. Definitely.
-
i once went into 2b... the lady was takeing a shower... she screamed and I was apologizing... I was a security guard, and the room was listed as empty but the alarm was going off... so I went in. The books were checked.. and one of the front desk clerks was fired for giving out the room free. so I would say.. not 2b
-
If you read the rest of the speech, the answer is to be - allbeit with some sense of resignation.
-
Not to be. Asking that hasn't been original for at least thirty years now. :)
-
I wanna be.
-
2B... good pencils they are...
-
"whether t'is nobler in the mind..." Hamlet. good play.
-
Dear Prince of Denmark, think positive...and just BE!
-
Be all that you can be.
-
It's too easy to not be. For me, I was nothing for a while because of fear in myself. Now I can be! I have joined the Army and can't wait for my advendure to start (within myself as well).
-
Not for most people. This question is "Should I off myself or not, and why?" Most people concentrate on more important and immediate matters - such as "HOW shall I be, and what shall I do to be that way?"
-
be a bee but dont be a babey
-
Hamlet chose to be... might have been better for everyone if he'd chosen not to though.
-
Whatever will be will be. ( not going the Hamlet route)
-
I would rather be than not be. Life over death in most instances.
-
There is no answer to this question ....
-
Only if you're suicidal! ;-)

-
Not right now. Right now it's what's for supper?
-
Yes. In most cases we have to make difficult choices. Hamlet did. But maybe he was crazy.
-
It's Shakespears' question.
-
Of course it is. So what's your answer?
-
Yes, the problem today is "do you have enough money to be?" If you don't, it is "not to be".
-
If you are suicidal or have had your identity stolen, yes!
-
Yes, and a very serious one, to question one's worth, one's mortality, identity
-
Being a Shakespeare fanatic, I must answer that it certainly is. The answer comes in the graveyard scene.
-
To be, is what I am. XD
-
No it's not....quit fooling around and take the trash out.
-
I choose to be.
