do you find your eyes get quite sore after a while of playing? or do you just get used to it?

no, not really. If they do, I adjust the brightness and contrast, as much as it's possible while still playing, or take a break. But I don't feel it affects my eyes much with an lcd monitor, unlike the old crt ones. THOSE did hurt your eyes after a while :/
