Can you teach me to whistle? (Don't just say "put your lips together and blow", if it were that easy I'd be doing it)

You are asking a question, that's totally impossible to teach, on Answerbag. Teaching someone to whistle is a one on one project. Some people never learn to whistle. Find a friend and ask for their assistance in teaching you to whistle.

The only way to whistle is to blow smoothly through in between your slightly opened lips or otherwise buy yourself a whistle and blow hard.

It all depends on the shape of your mouth so its different for everyone. Yes DO just put your lips together and blow, but then experiment with the position of the tip of your tongue - you might need it resting against the back of your bottom teeth, or gently touching the roof of your mouth, or anything in between. When you find where to sit your tongue to make a noise, then tiny changes in way you hold your lips will change the pitch of the note.
