Well, that is a lot to ask in a single question. As someone who thought similarly years ago, the only peace I was able to find was the peace that comes with Christ. Suicide is an escape when you find no hope in life. In Christ we can have hope, as we can be reassured He created us for a purpose. The Bible says "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life." The first thing you should know and understand is that God loves you and cared enough for you that He sent His Son to die for you. No matter how bad this life may seem to be God still loves you and still cares for you. In the book of Job, Satan dealt harshly with Job, killing all his children, yet God cared for Job even through the hard times and gave him strength to get through it. Though Job could not understand what was going on in his life God still watched over him and when it was over, he blessed Job for his faithfullness. Psychologists can only help so much, what fills the void in the hearts of men is Christ. The Bible says "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." This means that we all lack the ability to please our Creator and therefore, lack what we need to please our hearts. The Bible goes on to say "The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." That means that we deserve death, just as you deserve payment for work you do, we deserve death for our sin, but God loved us enough that Jesus payed that debt for us. You can have life and joy in Christ if you will accept it. Just as any gift I would offer to give you, you must take it for it to be yours, God offers salvation to those who will just take it. The next thing you should know is how to receive that gift. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God that raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." That means that all you have to do is believe you are a sinner, that Christ died for you and that He is alive today that you might live, then just confess it to Him in prayer. Ask Christ to forgive you, and come into your heart. Allow Him to be Lord of your life and you will have the peace your heart seeks. If you pray and ask Him to save you, the Bible says "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Not a might be but shall be. That is a promise from God. You will see in Christ life is made new. The Bible says you will be a new creature in Christ. Jesus even said, "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls." Christ wants to offer rest to your soul, but it will only come if you accept Him as your Savior. I would challenge you to talk to an Independent Baptist Church's pastor in your area. They study the Bible thoroughly and can help guide you in your search for peace.
