As a general rule everyone who gives advice about what instrument to play "first" will tell you their favorite. I say if you want to learn a particular instrument then learn that instrument first. You don't learn to drive a car by driving a motorbike first...
Your first instrument will always be harder than any you learn subsequently, but if you do not like (or are interested in) your first instrument you are less likely to continue on to what you really want to play.
If you want to play electric guitar then learn electric guitar.
Depends if you want to 'play' guitar or 'thrash' it...
If you have never played before Classic is easier, its not as hard on the fingers, and you can practice and master your cords and then transfer them to Electric :-)
Give it a try.
But keep in mind that the Beatles, Elvis, and Stevie Jones likely didn't bother with classical guitar.
For a difficult instrument to play, I think the accordion is very unappreciated, don't you?
